This is Mr. Mittens! He just recently turned a year old. We left Mitt at my parents house for a couple of days while I was on vacation, he was perfectly fine and happy. I get a text 3 days later with a picture of Mitt with a swollen face. I brush it off and ask that they give him benadryl to help. By the time I was home he was extremely skinny, he has stopped cleaning himself and could not even pick himself up to walk. When he attempted to walk he would sway and fall over multiple times. One of his eyes appeared to be glasssed over. We immediatly took him to the vet waiting until 3am to get any results. The results the veterinarians gave us said that he would be dead in a couple of days and there was no cure. Of course that's not the response we wanted and we frantically searched and found many websites saying there was a cure. We started injections the next day and he improved fast. It is not day 20 and the injections have become impossible. His skin has become very tight on his back and Mitt is a big boy so holding him down is extremely hard. The only probable option seems to be switching to pills. Me and my girlfriend are both in college at Clemson University so money is hard to come by. We scraped together the first bit of money and we are extremely happy with how much improvement we've seen. He is a new cat! We are only on day 20 and would love to get closer to day 84 to ensure that FIP does not come back. We would be extremely grateful for any donations and love seeing everybody's sucess stories.
