Dear Friends, Family, and Animal Lovers,

We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts but hopeful spirits, as we share the story of our beloved cat, Gatiko, who has brought immeasurable joy, love, and comfort to our lives. Gatiko's journey began in the most unlikely of circumstances, found abandoned and alone at just two days old, with his umbilical cord still attached, at the bottom of a storm drain, surrounded by spiders.

Against all odds, he fought for his life from the very beginning, defying the bleak prognosis given by the first vet who saw him and declared that he would not survive another 24 hours. With the guidance and care of a compassionate second vet, our little fighter not only survived but thrived, growing into a big and strong companion who brought light into our darkest days.

Gatiko became a beacon of hope and happiness during times of immense hardship. When our family was reeling from a tragic loss, he entered our lives and brought us solace with his boundless love and adorable antics. Throughout my father's battle with cancer, our cat was a constant source of comfort, providing unwavering support through the toughest of times.

After my father's passing, Gatiko continued to be a pillar of strength, helping us navigate the grieving process with his gentle presence and unconditional love. When my mother faced her own battle with cancer, he remained by her side, offering companionship and affection during her most trying moments. He was a constant source of joy to both of them through all their pain.

Now, our beloved companion faces his own battle against Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a devastating disease with a high fatality rate of over 95% if left untreated. However, there is hope. With prompt intervention and the right treatment, Gatiko has a fighting chance. Thankfully we were able to start Gatiko on the necessary medication 10 days ago. Already, we are seeing signs of improvement - his eyes are clearing up, his appetite is returning, and his energy levels are rising. These positive developments give us hope, but the road ahead is long and challenging.

The total expenses for Gatiko's medication, vet bills, and specialized food and supplements could exceed 3000 euros, a sum that will be very difficult for us to cover alone. We humbly turn to you, our community, for support in this time of need.

Gatiko has always been there for us, offering unwavering love and support through every trial and tribulation. Now, it is our turn to stand by him and ensure he receives the care he needs to overcome this illness.
